🍕 Pizza‑Making Instructions
Bake: 500°F • Time: 8–15 min • Yield: 1 pizza
1. Prepare the Dough
Remove one dough ball from the refrigerator 1–3 hours before baking.
Let it come to room temperature while you prep your toppings.2. Preheat the Oven
Set your oven to 500°F.
Place a pizza stone in the lower third of the oven if you have one.
If not, lightly oil a cookie sheet and place it in the oven while it preheats.3. Shape the Crust
Dust the dough ball with flour. Flatten and stretch into a 12-inch round, about ⅛ inch thick.
Work on a floured counter or directly on a floured or cornmeal‑dusted pizza peel.
If using a cookie sheet, stretch the dough directly onto parchment paper for easy transfer.4. Add Toppings
Spread ¼ cup tomato sauce, leaving a ½‑inch border. Add about 85 g (3 oz) mozzarella in spaced‑out chunks.
Add basil leaves and a pinch of salt. Drizzle lightly with olive oil.5. Bake
Transfer the pizza to the hot stone or cookie sheet. Bake for 8–10 minutes, rotating if one side browns faster.
Bake up to 5 minutes more if needed. Cool slightly on a rack so the cheese sets.
